Canadian Govt Also Ordered to Ban TikTok from their Official Devices

Newstoday: Canadian government also ban the Chinese-owned app TikTok from all official government-issued smartphones, citing an "unacceptable" degree of risk to privacy and security, escalating tensions between the two nations. The action highlights the rising backlash against TikTok, which is controlled by the Chinese corporation ByteDance Ltd, amid worries about its proximity to Beijing and global control over user data. As per the statement given by Canada's Treasury Board, which supervises public administration, the prohibition would take effect on Tuesday, and federal employees would be barred from downloading the program in the future. The ban was made without highlighting any serious security concerns, the TikTok spokesperson said in the statement. European Commission also ordered to ban it, and the US senate imposed a ban to ban federal employees from using this app on government devices.
