Dubai is Planning to Launch Self-Driving Taxis Soon

Reduce Traffic

Newstoday: Dubai is preparing to become the first non-American city to establish a self-driving taxi network, with the Roads and Transport Authority and Cruise, a self-driving technology startup, launching testing and data collection for this historic project. RTA stated on Twitter that it is testing this forthcoming technology for traffic signals, traffic signs, driver behavior, and other areas of driving using five Chevy autonomous cars in Jumeirah 1. RTA and Cruise hope to launch these self-driving cabs by 2030, making it Dubai's first such endeavor. The RTA will deploy around 4,000 autonomous vehicles, making Dubai the first municipality outside of the United States to have such a network. Aside from being self-driving, self-driving taxis will have various other advantages, like reduced traffic congestion, fewer traffic offenses, and lower hazardous emissions.
