Govt Included Transgender in Benazir Income Support Programme

NewsToday: First time in Pakistan’s history, transgender people are now eligible for the Benazir income support program. Transgender is now able to get cash of around 7000 through this program. Shazia Marri, the minister of poverty alleviation and chairperson of Benazir Income Support, announced to increase in the scope of BISP, which benefits people in their daily work.During her meeting, Shazia Maria talked about the role and rights of Transgender in our community and made them eligible for Rs 7000 quarterly cash assistance. She told the media that they are facing economic and social issues in the country and have been ignored in society to be made separate from their families.

As per a recent survey, 50,000 transgender are registered with an organization. In this case, their registration from Nadra is compulsory for assessing BISP financial support. Benazir income support is already assisting around 900,000 families. Govt are further looking to help their people through the IMF program. They prioritize looking after their country after the International Monetary fund program deal.
