Lost Climbers Recovered From AJK

News Today: Senior Dawn reporter Ikram Junaidi's younger brother Imran Junaidi’s body was recovered along with the two other climbers Khurram Rajput and Usman Tariq from 16,000 feet altitude in Neelam Valley, Azad Jammu Kashmir. The deceased Imran Junaidi was buried at the H-11 cemetery in Islamabad on Sunday. Imran went missing during his expedition to the Sarwali Summit in AJK.
Despite various search operations conducted in 2015 and 2016, searchers remained unsuccessful. This year in August, Neelum Valley trekkers, including Khawaja Rafiq and Altaf Ahmed Lone found the remains of the missing mountaineers. On the humble request of the disappeared mountaineer relatives, Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir instructed SDMA to provide all necessary assistance to bring down the deceased bodies. On 3rd Sept, the Alpine Club members departed for the peak and reached the remains on Sept 7 to bring them down.
