Newstoday: Argentina's World Cup-winning player, Lionel Messi, received the FIFA World Cup 2022 Men's Player of the Year honor. The finest players of the year 2022 were recognized at the FIFA awards event, which took place in Paris. France's Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema, and Lionel Messi fought it out for the title of Men footballer of the year and won for best footballer award.

Lionel Messi has now received the FIFA award for best male player twice. Messi led Argentina to World Cup victory last year, and in 2021–22, while playing for both his national team and other clubs, he scored 27 goals in 49 appearances.
