Negotiations between Pakistan and IMF on Economic Review Started

NewsToday: The ninth economic review negotiations got underway today when the International Monetary Fund (IMF) review mission touched down in Pakistan for a 10-day visit. After completing the ninth economic review IMF, sources confirmed that the deal would get back with pending $1.1 billion. At the time of discussion, the IMF presented the detail of economic performance from July to December. Also, the current account was involved in an account deficit in energy sector reforms, and the status of loans involved in the privatization program was also discussed in the meeting.

According to sources, a number of requirements had already been met before the arrival of the IMF review team. In addition, a decision about power and gas is anticipated to be made soon, which would open the way for the completion of the economic agreement with the IMF.
