She said in a statement that she took the decision to leave her post at the appropriate time on her own initiative and without any outside pressure. She further added that the tasks will continue till the nomination of the next PM. The Scottish National Party's leader, Nicola Sturgeon, served the country for more than eight years. Nicola was the first lady in scotland to hold this position. When making the next appointment, the party will speak with her.

According to the international media, the names that came out for the appointment are Kate Forbes, Jon Sweeney, and Angus Robertson for a new replacement. On the other hand, the name of Hamza Yusuf the health secretary is also on the list.
