Pakistan and Russia

Newstoday: On Monday, Pakistan and the Russian Federation will mark the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties. FM of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto exchanged congratulations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to celebrate this historic event. According to a Foreign Office statement, Pakistan and Russia have close, multifaceted relations based on mutual goodwill and confidence. Bilateral connections are distinguished by collaboration in a variety of fields, including economics, energy, and security.

The two nations also consult on regional and global matters of mutual concern in several multilateral fora. It is worth noting that Pakistan and Russia established diplomatic ties on this day in 1948. Let it be apparent to both countries that they have had ups and downs since the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Despite its complicated history, Pakistan was among the first countries to recognize Russia, and the two countries built strong diplomatic relations in 1992.

Both sides' relations have recently improved dramatically. Islamabad joined the (SCO), a regional security organization comprised of Russia, China, and other Central Asian governments, in 2015, further strengthening ties.
