Newstoday: After India's adamant opposition to hosting the Asia Cup in Pakistan, (PCB) is considering a hybrid format for the ICC World Cup, which will be held in India in October-November. Previously, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stated unequivocally that it would not travel to Pakistan again for an Asian event this year due to a lack of approval from the government. Following their denial, the PCB has also refused to play World Cup matches in India this year. According to ESPNcricinfo, discussions over a neutral venue for matches against Pakistan during the ICC World Cup have begun. Pakistan is likely to see Bangladesh as a neutral venue. The notion arose on the eve of the board meetings in Dubai when India's participation in the Asia Cup and, by extension, Pakistan's participation in the World Cup was on both members' agendas. It should be mentioned that the UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka, and even England are being considered to host India matches during the Asia Cup 2023. The India-Pakistan matches, as well as the final if India qualifies, will be played in a neutral venue. The two archrivals will meet at least twice during the Asian tournament. Last year, Asia Cup was hosted by Sri Lanka, in UAE.
