Pakistan to Host International Hockey Olympic Qualifiers for the First time in 20 Years

Newstoday: FIH has announced that Pakistan will host the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers with China and Spain which will take place from January 13 to 21, 2024. Pakistan will host the event after a 20-year hiatus since the last time it did so in 2004. Men's qualifications will be conducted in Lahore, Pakistan, and Valencia, Spain, while women's qualifiers will be held in Changzhou, China, and Valencia, Spain. Each event will include eight teams, for a total of sixteen teams for each gender.

The continental quotas for the qualification events have been assigned, with teams earning their berths depending on their performance in the 2023 Continental Championships. The best teams from each event will join the hosts, France, and the champions of each Continental Championship in qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Olympic hockey competitions will have 12 teams per gender, each with 16 competitors.
