Taliban Banned VOA and other Foreign Channels in Afghanistan

TALIBAN BANNED VOA

NewsToday: The Taliban administration in Afghanistan has blocked Voice of America and other networks.

Voice of America reports that the Taliban have prohibited Radio Free Europe and V&A Radio Azadi from transmitting. Whenever complaints regarding a program's content are received, the Taliban responds.

Afghanistan has press regulations, and any network that violates these regulations will lose its privilege to report and transmit from the country, Taliban Foreign Ministry spokesperson Abdul Qahar Balkhi explained.

In addition, he added that VOA and Radio Azadi were shut down because they failed to comply with these guidelines.
