Arrests of PTI Workers Started in Lahore for Violation of Section 144

Newstoday: Police in Lahore have initiated detentions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members for violating Section 144. PTI workers are being detained at Zaman Park Canal Road by the police. Near Zaman Park, police have deployed heavy equipment and water cannons. A rally has been announced for today by Tehreek-e-Insaf in Lahore. Fawad Chaudhry expressed solidarity with the constitution and the judiciary in his speech. Lahore, however, has been imposed with Section 144 by the Punjab Home Department. A seven-day ban on rallies, sit-ins, and demonstrations in Lahore has been imposed by the provincial interior department, effective today.
