NewsToday: England broke the 112-year-old record for this longest format in the Pindi Test against Pakistan.

The England squad, which is presently in Pakistan for a test series, scored the most runs on the first day, making history. England scored 506 runs for the cost of four wickets on the opening day of the first Test match at Pindi Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi.

It should be noted that this is the highest score by a team in Test cricket history on the first day of a match. Australia set the previous record for most runs scored on the opening day of a test match. The Australian team scored 496 runs on the first day of the Test match against South Africa in Sydney in 1910.
