Former U-16 Pakistan Football Captain Passes Away due to Kidney Failure

Newstoday: Munir Aftab, one of Pakistan's most young and skilled players, died on Tuesday afternoon in Karachi due to renal failure, leaving the football fraternity in mourning. Munir Aftab, often known as 'Muna,' was a gold medalist footballer who captained Pakistan's national team in international events at a young age. Munir was hospitalized at the (SIUT) a few weeks before Eid al-Fitr and was kept on a ventilator till his death. The 26-year-old footballer's funeral prayer was performed at Baghdadi Masjid in Saifi Line, and he was buried at Mayo Shah Cemetery today. Munir was an excellent talent who rose to prominence as a Lyari player. At the age of 12, he captained the national squad at the Under-13 Football Championship in Iran in 2009.
