Govt Allowed Lahore Markets to Remain Open till 1am Till Eid

Newstoday: The Supreme Court granted permission for markets to remain open until 1 a.m. until Eid. The applications submitted to alleviate the haze were heard in the Lahore High Court. Haroon Farooq and others filed petitions with Justice Shahid Karim, claiming that no meaningful measures to combat smog had been done. The court ordered that proceedings against the tree cutters be filed immediately and stated that tree cutting will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The court also ordered WASA to recheck Lahore's subsurface water level. On April 14, a new hearing on the application will be placed.
