According to a briefing by the prosecutor of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, the Chief Justice has been charged with corruption.

A few hours later, the Supreme Court decided in an extraordinary session to dismiss Vysevolud Niyayev as the court's chief in a vote of no confidence. Semyon Krivonos, the agency's chairman, said in a briefing on Tuesday that the Supreme Court's chief justice is accused of collecting $2.7 million in bribes. He stated that we are demonstrating via genuine cases and activities that our goal is high-ranking corruption and illegal conduct at the highest level of authority.
