China and Qatar sign the world longest gas supply agreement

china qatar gas agreement

NewsToday: The Qatar Energy Company announced that it had signed the world's longest gas supply agreement with China.
According to Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Qatar's energy minister and QatarEnergy's CEO, the pact is the longest gas supply agreement in the LNG industry's history. Qatari gas is also exported to Europe, as well as to China, South Korea, and Japan. This is the reason why European countries look for these benign governments after Russia invaded Ukraine.
Germany and other European countries are also interacting with Asian nations on a long-term basis. China becomes the first country to deal with North Field East. The Chinese chairman also stated that his company owns the whole North Field South project, which is controlled by Western energy behemoths.
Both nations want to strengthen bilateral connections, while China wants to raise its energy demand through collaboration with other countries.
Sinopec Chairman Ma Yongsheng, who participated in the virtual signing ceremony from Beijing, called it a watershed moment since Qatar is the world's largest LNG exporter and China is the world's largest LNG buyer.
