Civil Hospital Karachi Denies Treatment to Transgender Persons

Newstoday: Health minister and the MS of Karachi’s civil hospital summoned by the Sindh High Court Judge. This summons was taken against the petition highlighted the lack of treatment for transgender people who is infected by viruses and other diseases like HIV/AIDS, according to the hearing, which Chief Justice Ahmad Ali Sheik led with a bench of two members at the Sindh high court. According to the report, three transgender named Monica, Mai Jan, and Nikori need special assistance and treatment who are suffering from HIV/AIDS.

The hospital staff refused to provide them with care and treatment. Also, it is inducted that the HIV epidemic is growing in Pakistan, especially in the major cities where every month, 50 cases of HIV are recorded in different cities in Pakistan. Pakistan's government also needs to pay attention to the transgender community surviving in Pakistan without necessary needs. The people should also give necessary awareness.
