News Today:  Pakistan military's ongoing operation Azm-e-Istehkam got approval for additional funds of Rs20 billion to equip security forces against terrorist groups in two provinces KPK and Balochistan. The ECC of the cabinet division approved the allocation for Azm-e-Istehkam during the fiscal year 2024-25. According to an official of the Ministry of Finance, the remaining Rs 40 billion are pending and will be disbursed during the second half of the financial year.

This payment is allocated for the procurement of advanced military equipment. The approved disbursement is over and above the regular military budget, but the militants' access to the leftover advanced technology and weaponry by running US forces looms a new wave of terrorism in the country. The capacitated terrorists dipped the military forces in a challenge of new hardware procurement to fight the pitfalls of terrorism. However, the government has done its job by approving extra amounts from the national exchequer hoping to see light at the end of the tunnel.
