NewsToday: According to FIFA, the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has already proved to be a great success, with record attendance during the group stages.

During the Qatar event, teams from all continents advanced to the round of 16. The Asian Football Confederation also had three teams advance to the knockout stages for the first time (Australia, Japan, and South Korea).

FIFA reported that nearly 2.45 million spectators attended the 48 matches of the group stage, which equates to 96% occupancy. In the United States, this was the second-highest attendance after 1994.
