Heavy Traffic Jams Expected Throughout Islamabad Due to Protest Against Inflation

Traffic Jam

Newstoday: Citizens of the twin cities may face traffic bottlenecks across Islamabad following Jummah prayers as political workers converge to protest Pakistan's high inflation. According to an official update, political party representatives will meet in Sector G11 and march to the press club in F6 Supermarket in the procession. According to sources, Jinnah Avenue, the Srinagar Highway, and Super Market sectors are the most prone to traffic bottlenecks. The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police Department has yet to release a formal directive in this respect. Nonetheless, sources close to the situation have advised people to avoid excessive movement to or within the affected locations.

The Bhara Kahu Scandal

Another incident occurred yesterday on the under-construction Bhara Kahu flyover in Islamabad when a girder collapsed during installation, causing traffic to stop on both sides. Luckily, no one was killed in the event. This was the second major failure in less than a week. In the first, the flyover's shuttering and scaffolding collapsed, killing two workers and injuring three others.
