Mexican Authorities Found 103 Children with Other 343 Migrants from Truck

Newstoday: An abandoned freight truck container on a highway was found by Mexican authorities to hold 343 migrants and refugees, including 103 unaccompanied minors. The trailer was discovered in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz, according to the National Immigration Institute (INM). It was on a corridor frequently utilized by traffickers to transport individuals from southeastern Mexico to the US border.

Authorities said the passengers were in excellent health, and why the driver escaped was unknown. Most of the founded children belonged to Guatemala. Migrants who made it to the United States routinely pay traffickers to bring their children back. The institution states that the adults belong to the region of  Guatemala and some are from El Salvador and Honduras, and few are from Ecuador. Family services of Veracruz will take custody of the missing children, according to INM.
