Newstoday: The first transgender News Anchor in Pakistan barely avoided an attempted murder in Lahore. Transgender anchor Marvia Malik has been charged with murder. Marvia Malik told the police she had been fired at while walking home from the drugstore in the Cant neighborhood. Marvia Malik claimed to have left her house and fled Lahore after getting threats over the phone.

Marvia stated that i am a role model to everyone in my community. They are also significant in other professions," in an interview she gave to Geo News a few years ago.
