Ousted B’Desh Premier Haseena Accuses US For Her Removal From Power

News Today: Former Bangladesh premier Sheikh Haseena is on fire alleging the United States for engineering her ouster from power. The young blood of Bangladesh forced Haseena to resign and flee to neighboring India. Having hoped for a prompt return to Dhaka, she left the country Aug 5. Her ouster was the result of nationwide demonstrations. The bloody protests were the backlash of the rights-based discrimination that turned into an organized student-led movement.
Keeping the truth under wraps, she outmaneuvered the situation by conveying a message to her Awami League supporters. Haseena refers to the sole coral reef island of Bangladesh, St. Martin’s Island located in the northeastern part of the Bay of Bengal, fanning the years-old rumors that the US was seeking illegitimate control over the island to turn it into its military base. She tried to lower the temperature by associating the internal dilemma with the sovereignty of St. Martin’s Island. She proclaimed her surrender was for saving lives, resources and national sovereignty.
She concluded with the promise of a sooner return. The 76-year-old Haseena ruled Bangladesh's politics for almost two decades, lifting around 25 million people out of poverty in the last two decades. The other side of her premiership spotlights her autocratic role that mainly turned into the civil disobedience movement that culminated in brutal violence nationwide and the collapse of her government.
