Pakistan Manufactured 2.81 Million Mobile Phones in First 3 Months of 2023

Newstoday: During the first three months of 2023 (January-March), local manufacturing plants produced 2.81 million mobile handsets, compared to 0.27 million commercially imported.According to official data, local manufacturing plants produced 0.46 million mobile devices in March 2023, compared to 0.08 million imported commercially.

Local manufacturing facilities produced 21.94 million mobile devices in the calendar year 2022, down from 24.66 million in 2021, owing to challenges with imports caused by restrictions on the creation of letters of credit (LCs). According to the (PTA), around 21.94 million mobile handsets were built during the calendar year 2022, compared to 1.53 million commercially imported phone handsets. In last year 2022, 21.94 million mobile phones were imported.
