Newstoday: As Pakistan's senior civil and military authorities agreed that restraint towards May 9 offenders would no longer be practiced, the interim Punjab government issued an ultimatum to Imran Khan's party to give over militants staying in Zaman Park. Following massive damage, the Punjab government handed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf a 24-hour ultimatum to give over 40 'terrorists' who had taken sanctuary in the former premier's mansion. In a news conference in the province capital, temporary information minister Aamir Mir stated that the government had solid intelligence inputs concerning terrorists' presence at the PTI chief's famed mansion in Lahore.
Mir, who described the intelligence assessment as 'alarming,' claimed agencies confirmed the presence of 'terrorists' in Zaman Park via geo-fencing and referred to the previous ruling party as a non-state entity. The minister said that the PTI organized the damage and arson before Imran Khan was arrested. The administration has taken a zero-tolerance stance against it, and interim Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has given the Punjab police a free hand in dealing with anyone implicated in arson. He said further that nearly 3,400 attackers in hundreds of raids and nearly 800 attackers identified.
