Tare Zameen Par Actress Lalith Lajmi Passed Away at the Age of 90

Newstoday: Classical Dancer and renowned actor Lalith Lajmi died on 13 Feb at the age of 90. Her passion for classical dance led her to become a self-taught artist. She was born in Calcutta in the year 1930, and her work had significant collections in the national gallery of modern art. The daughter of Lalith, Kalpana Lajmi was also a film director and an author who shows the hidden conflicts and tension in the life of men and women.
She is the sister of actor, director, and producer Guru Dutt. She has always had a passion for the arts; as a young girl, she applied to and was accepted into an art school where she worked with underprivileged and disabled kids. Her initial pieces of art were purchased by a german art collector for 100 rupees. She also played in the intra-school art competition in Amir Khan's film Tare Zameen Par.
