Newstoday: After Muallah Mohamad Hassan Akhund resigned due to a protracted illness, Afghanistan's deputy prime minister of political affairs, Maulvi Abdul Kabir, was named as interim prime minister. According to the media, Akhund has formally resigned and chosen Abdul Kabir to fill his place. The authorities provide him the formal letter and notification.

Following the appointment, the final statement was distributed to all ministries and institutes. The country's future Prime Minister hails from the eastern Paktika region and belongs to the Zadran tribe. During the Taliban's previous administration, Kabir was the governor of Nangarhar, and he is well-known for his leadership.
