NewsToday: According to a team of physicians, Elon Musk's organization Neuralink is collecting and killing monkeys in order to construct a "brain-machine interface."

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) has published information on its website suggesting that monkeys were mistreated in studies at the University of California, Davis, in the United States. The institution released lab records from many procedures on monkeys that indicated electrodes being placed during surgery. The notes also mentioned Neuralink's chief neurosurgeon, Matthew McDougal.

According to Reena Pohl of PCRM, the lab notes were supplied after the institution launched a lawsuit in February. However, he stressed that these trials were conducted by Neuralink staff.

The lawsuit claims that the electrodes implanted in the monkeys brains infected them and that the uncertified bio-glue caused parts of the monkeys' brains to malfunction, killing them.

The trials, according to PCRM, took place at the University of California, Davis, and Neuralink paid $1.4 million to utilize the university's facilities.

On November 30, Elon Musk stated on Twitter that the Neuralink firm would have a Show and Tell event. The yearly event included plans to implant a chip into a pig's brain in 2020 and a monkey in 2021, both of which perished.
