Railways to Start Online Bookings for Pets on Trains: Report

Indian Railway

Newstoday: Railway rules have changed, according to the IRCTC report. The railway minister said that travelers can now travel by train with their pets. In addition, notification has been submitted to the CRIS for the provision of this facility for animals. The following are some requirements that must be met:

(1.) Pets would only be permitted in AC-1 coaches (2 or 4-berth coupes). Vaccination would be required; if other passengers objected, the animals would be sent to the guard in the Seating-cum-Luggage rake (SLR).

(2.) Travellers will be allowed to reserve 'tickets' for pets only when the first train chart was completed. Their personal ticket must be confirmed, although animal tickets can be bought using the IRCTC app.
(3)Online facility is available.
4.) There is no provision for refunding animal ticket fares if the owner cancels the voyage, decides not to travel with pets, or the train is canceled or delayed for more than three hours. However, the tourist would receive reimbursement.
